Extensive Musical Taste - Björk, The Crimea, Amateur Transplants, Falco

We are the earth intruders
We are the earth intruders
Muddy with twigs and branches
A-haaaaaa!

I randomly downloaded Björk's new album after hearing Earth Intruders on Last.fm. I quite like the album despite it got a fair amount of bad reviews. The crazy mashup of lyrics and thumping beats along with other tracks of melodic euphoria is freaking brilliant! At least to a trip-hop fan as myself. 86%

When your eyelids flicker
And liqueur is your oldest friend
When you dream of silence
The silence on which life depends

The Crimea has had to do what is the most uber thing ever and have actually made their latest album COMPLETELY FREE to download. It's very good British indie rock I tells ya! With more meaning than you can shake a stick at! Songs about war, love, loss and all matter of touching subjects. 98%

Paracetamoxyfrusebendroneomycin, paracetamoxyfrusebendroneomycin
It can cure the common cold and being struck by lightning

The charity album Fitness to Practise by London doctors-in-training Adam Kay and Suman Biswas - better known as the Amateur Transplants - became popular for the video to London Underground and their whole album is good for a laugh; once you get past the overly offensive lyrics. You can download a few of their tracks here, just don't be surprised if you get offended at such tracks at Northern Birds and The Menstrual Rag. The sound quality could be better, but I think they make up for it when you know it's just two guys with a piano. 79%

Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, Amadeus
Amadeus Amadeus, oh oh oh Amadeus

You know that Dr Zaius song from the Simpsons? Remember how awesome it was? Well here's the original! By Austrian musician Falco, Rock Me Amadeus has really gotten stuck in my head as of late. Another track I discovered via Last.fm, Rock Me Amadeus was actually at number one in over a dozen countries back in '86 - much to my surprise - and has since continued life as a piece of pop culture; long after the original artist has died. 95%
